No this is not your vocabulary lesson for the day! I realize, and am a firm believer, that it takes all kinds of people to make the world go around. Today, I want to talk about three types of people in the world. That is not to say that there is no in between. I am also not trying to say that a person can’t change. But, in general, you can divide people into the following three types:
1. The Motivator - This type is the one that devises a plan and then goes after it, at all cost! If the first plan doesn’t work, they will just devises another plan… and relentlessly pursue it. This type doesn’t give up in the effort of trying to achieve what they set out to do.
This type rarely loses control. Sometimes a perfectionist, but doesn’t mind rocking the boat once in a while. They might be sitting in the back of the class where nobody
can see him, or some may think he’s not paying attention, but in reality he’s the one listening to every single word, just waiting to put it all together! The one who may work best under pressure, and never cracks under it! Looks forward to the future, more than ready to conquer it.
2. The Moderator- This type is perfectly satisfied with monotony or routine. They are unwilling to “pick up the pace”. Any pace is just fine for him. It’s what works! Thinks all is breaking loose if the routine is broken, or
something doesn’t go as planned. Tends to be in the middle of the class…just because that’s where he thinks he should be. Might make a plan, but never has intent on seeing it all the way through to the end. Lives an average life, and that’s just great for him. Works best in a controlled atmosphere…. a schedule that can be adhered to! Lives for the day, worries about tomorrow when it arrives.
3. The Procrastinator- This person is the one who has half of a plan in place, ready to take action on it… but inevitably something goes awry and it has to be “put it off” another day. The one that begins a sentence with “someday….” Wants it all but doesn’t have the drive to make it happen, but more than happy to ridicule the ones that do. Unwilling to accept change. Goes to their job, puts in the 8-10 hour day, complaining all the way through. Then comes home to dwell on what could be. Tends to live in the past… uses the “I could’ve, I would’ve, or I should’ve” phrase on a continual basis. Blame shifter!
Ironically, these three types of people can also be called by three other names… Rich, Middle Class, and Poor…
Which one are you?
